Safe spaces allude to places where individuals can unwind and communicate completely without the dread of being caused to feel sub-par, unwanted or risky because of their life decisions, social foundation, sex character among numerous different components (Cross et al., 2015). An individual ought not be caused to feel awkward due to being somewhat unique in activities or physical appearance. Social insight alludes to the capacity to relate, work and perform viably in socially different settings (Dyne, 2012). The insight creates from past individual cooperations with fluctuating societies. An individual in this manner picks up the required information t o work in those social set ups. Social mindfulness alludes to the capacity to perceive ones own social effect on qualities, convictions, and decisions. It additionally incorporates the impacts that an individual gets from the experts work culture. Social mindfulness begins by monitoring social contrasts and their impact on conduct (Swearer Hymel, 2015, p. 350). Tormenting is a perplexing issue that is impacted by numerous variables that are socio-biological related (Harcourt, Green Bowden, 2015). The social-environmental model helps study tormenting through the four degrees of the model to be specific individual, relationship, network and society. The hypothesis helps in extending the information the intricate marvel that is harassing. Social insight furnishes an individual with the aptitudes and information to tune ones conduct to relate with the social prerequisites of a circumstance or at work. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RDbDQP4xQ6s) Perceptions/Description of Video The primary scene of the video cut is arranged in the city in New York. The couple of two youngsters are strolling holding their hands together while their fingers are immovably interwoven giving indications of a sentimental relationship. The three domineering jerks are wearing loose garments and are believed to utilize signs and signals that portray an oppressive nature (Swarthout, 2003). The three domineering jerks are enormous in body height, and the couple was in a situation to make hurt them. The domineering jerks showed an absence of social insight when they followed the couple and began to badger and menace them by pushing them of the pathway displaying indications of rejection (Flanja, 2009). The gathering that protects the couple show a great deal of social insight as they remove the couple from the scene and appear to be puzzled by the activities of the harassers. Space is hazardous for the couple. The second scene in the video includes four women. One is situated in a different digital from the other three. The young lady posts her image on Facebook with no evil aims and possibly unconscious of digital tormenting. The other three young ladies situated in an alternate digital view the image and attempt to remark. The non-verbal communication of one of the young ladies when they initially observed the image indicated that she had zero regard for her and they had isolated her. The young lady needed social insight and mindfulness (Quappe and Cantatore, 2005). The young lady imitated the image and giggled at her with the embodiment of their tormenting being composing dreadful remarks. The online networking is a dangerous space. Conversation In the principal scene of the video cut, the three harassers showed an absence of social insight when they initially observed the couple clasping hands utilizing signals and signs. The indications of nauseate appeared by the domineering jerks made the couple scared, and they hastened away attempting to maintain a strategic distance from the trio. Ineffectively created mindfulness drove the trio to act brutally towards the couple. The harassers did not have the capacity to acclimate to another culture and to them they didn't have to regard the qualities and convictions of the couple. A more intensive glance at the social-natural model level one of the individual, the video shows that the domineering jerks possibly had individual history factors and organic factors that made them culprits of brutality (Bruhn, 2005). The relationship level uncovers that the domineering jerks have never been close or have close family members that are LGBT. The complete absence of social insight advanced their forceful nature towards the couple. It is along these lines simple to reason that the network the domineering jerks are from has not grasped such culture (Vahedi, Fathi Golparvar, 2016). The conduct of an individual is generally impacted by culture. The conduct showed by the domineering jerks caused the couple to feel dangerous. The second scene in the film shows how digital tormenting effectively happens. This sort of tormenting particularly doesn't require the culprit to be in closeness to the person in question. The young lady (menace) who first observes the image on the social site has ineffectively evolved social knowledge levels. The underlying response and the motions she depict show how she feels towards the person in question and that she feels the casualty isn't of her bore. The young ladies conduct is advanced by the nearest circle-peers she has who appear to be on the side of her conduct and joke (swearer Hymel, 2015). The social-biological hypothesis shows that the connections an individual has impact their jobs in harassing. The third degree of the Social-natural model shows that it is likely the young lady radiates from a network which has a background marked by viciousness subsequently why she is a domineering jerk. Out of the three young ladies, one shows that she has a profoundly evolved so cial knowledge level. She isn't intrigued by the responses of the domineering jerk and sits calm and attempts to focus on her issues. In any case, when she peruses the remark that the young lady is going to post the image she makes a move into her hands and erases the remark before it is posted. The young lady is attempting to make the social site a sheltered spot. Proposals Proposals for the primary scene in the video ought to include network instruction and mindfulness creation. The three harassers appear to hold detest for the LGBT. Broad instruction and mindfulness creation projects will assist with changing the network all in all to make the network a sheltered spot (Taipale, 2012). It is basic to expanding the degree of cultural connectedness so individuals can interface with shifting society and get taught on the need to regard the qualities and convictions of different societies (Spencer, 2008). It is significant that networks structure strategies and laws to control tormenting. The culprits of tormenting ought to be censured for their activities, and they ought to be compelled to go to hostile to harassing activities for a given period till their activities improve. Most survivors of tormenting end up as culprits of the bad habit. It is in this way essential to instruct and restore all the casualties to forestall the spread of tormenting. The pe ople group can set up focuses to provide food for these casualties where they can hold meetings and discussion about it to enable them to recuperate (Cornell Bradshaw, 2015). It is difficult to control digital tormenting, however schools have the necessary hardware to carry this bad habit to a stop. Everything You Need to Know About Bleach
Bleach is the common name for a solution of 2.5%à sodium hypochlorite in water. Its also called chlorine bleach or liquid bleach. Another type of bleach is oxygen-based or peroxide bleach. While you may know bleach is used to disinfect and remove stains, there is more to know about this everyday chemical to use it safely and effectively. Here are some important facts about this solution. Useful Bleach Facts Bleach has a shelf life and expiration date. On average, a container of unopened bleach loses 20% of its effectiveness each year. Once opened, bleach starts to lose a significant amount of its power after 6 months.Chlorine bleach is more effective as a disinfectant when its diluted rather than if its used at full strength. A typically recommended dilution is 1 part bleach to 9 parts water.A higher percentage of bleach is needed if a large quantity of organic material (e.g., blood, protein) is present, as these materials react with bleach and tend to neutralize it.If you add sodium hypochlorite bleach to whiten laundry or remove stains, its better to add it after the wash cycle has already filled with water and started agitation. If you add bleach together with detergent, you risk diminishing the effectiveness of enzyme-based stain removers and the detergent. On the other hand, oxygen-based bleach is best added to warm or hot water before clothes are added. Oxygen-based bleaches are g enerally color-safe and will preserve whiteness, but will not remove color. Sodium hypochlorite bleach does whiten fabrics ââ¬â¹but is not safe for all materials.Bleach reacts with several other chemicals to release toxic vapors. Its generally inadvisable to mix bleach with other cleaners. In particular, avoid mixing bleach with acetone, alcohol, vinegarà or other acids, or ammonia.Bleach can corrode metal, so if you clean or disinfect a metal surface with bleach, its important to wipe it down with water or alcohol afterward.Although its commonly believed drinking bleach can lead to a negative blood or urine test for drug use, this is untrue. While chlorine bleach is a powerful disinfectant, peroxide bleach is not suitable for this purpose. Chlorine bleach disinfects because it is an oxidizer, capable of disrupting microbial cells. Oxidation is also how chlorine bleach removes color. Sodium hypochlorite breaks bonds in the chromophore or colored portion of a molecule, rendering it colorless. Reducing bleaches also exist, which also change chemical bonds and alter how a molecule absorbs light.Chlorine bleach was first used to disinfect water in 1895 forà New York Citys Croton Reservoir.Household bleach may be made using water, caustic soda, and chlorine. The process of electrolysis is used to produce chlorine and caustic soda by running an electric current through a solution of table salt (sodium chloride) in water. Caustic soda and chlorine react to form sodium hypochlorite. All that is needed is to bubble chlorine gas through caustic soda solution. Since chlorine gas is toxic, bleach is not a chemical one should make at home.Although the odor of chlorine is apparent in bleach, when bleach is used, the chemical reaction tends to produce salt water and not chlorine gas.Although the toxic chemical dioxin has been known to occur in bleaching products using in the wood pulp and paper industry, household bleach is free from dioxin because gaseous chlorine mus t be present for dioxin to form.

Why Antony Lost Against Octavian - 1096 Words
Why Antony Lost Against Octavian Your Name Here Roman History March 7, 2012 Why did Mark Antony lose to his rival, Octavian? Antony lost because of his failure to view Octavianââ¬â¢s political and military success as a serious threat, his lack of political favoritism and support with the Senate in Rome, and finally abandoning his loyal army at the battle of Actium. Antony was well known throughout the political world in Rome and among his military colleagues as a virtuous, trailblazing commander. After all, he was in fact the great Julius Caesarââ¬â¢s second in command. Through much of the internal conflict of his time, he did astoundingly maintain at least some support in Rome. However, his failing to acknowledge Octavianââ¬â¢s militaryâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦If only he would have remained in Rome, he could have at least had the opportunity to defend his position as Caesarââ¬â¢s second in command and repaired his reputation. However, in his absence, it was Octavian and Cicero who was there to slowly demolish his chances at political and military success. The alleged poor choice of habits that governed his personal affairs were generally recognized as a trigger for the increased factional schisms that eventually would prove injurious to his political career and ultimately an desertion from the Senate. Antonyââ¬â¢s dealings with Cleopatra and Egypt proved to further soil his reputation among the Romans. His abandonment of the beloved Octavia, his legal Roman wife, in lieu of Cleopatra, a foreigner, didnââ¬â¢t sit well with the general public opinion in Rome. After having twins and yet another son with Cleopatra, he was deeply indebted to her, possibly both emotionally and politically. Onlookers must have imagined how such attachment must have been negatively viewed as deeds of a traitor in Rome. To top it all off, although by illegal means by Octavian it was later realized that Antony had secretly recorded in his will that the kingdoms conquered by Egyptian warfare be divvied up to the Egyptians, not Rome. The Reports of Unemployment Rate
Questions: (1). a The table below reports some labour market figures for a hypothetical country, Blefuscu in 2005. Assume that there are only two types of employment: full time and part time. Everyone who is not employed is unemployed. Calculate the Labour force participation and ii) unemployment rate. Show all your calculations. Population 15,000,000 Working age population 12,900,000 Number of people Not in the labour force 100,000 Part-time employment as a percentage of total employment 18% Number of full-time employees 4,953,000 Rate of underemployment 40% (b). The government of Blefuscu announces that the unemployment rate fell from 2005 to 2006. The government says this is positive news as it shows more jobs are being created and less people are unemployed. The labour unions, on the other hand, disagreed with this assessment and stated that they could find no evidence that additional jobs have been created between 2005 and 2006. Your task is to explain how the unemployment rate can fall even if there are no new jobs being created. First, using the numbers you have been given in 1A as the 2005 figures, fill in the table below by developing a set of numbers that show how the unemployment rate can fall even if there are no new jobs being created. Assume no change between 2005 and 2006 in the population, percentage of part time workers and working age population. Second, discuss in detail how the numbers show the unemployment rate can fall even if there are no new jobs being created. List two possible reasons why this may occur. Year 2005 2006 Population 15,000,000 15,000,000 Working age population 12,900,000 12,900,000 Number of people Not in the labour force 100,000 ______ Part-time employment as a percentage of total employment 18% ___% Number of full-time employees 4,953,000 _____ Rate of underemployment 40% ___% (2). Economists are deeply puzzled by our desire to have children. First, kids are really expensive - the biggest financial decision most couples will make. Forget the cost of buying the family home; the kids you choose to populate it with will end up costing just as much, or more, over a lifetime. A survey released last week by AMP and the National Centre for Social and Economic Modelling found the typical Australian family spent $812,000 raising two kids. This is an increase of nearly 50 per cent in just six years. Economists like to assume we are rational individuals who make decisions based on anticipated costs and benefits. The Sunday Mail (Qld) May 26 2013 You are the senior Economic advisor to the Prime Minister who is currently considering how to reduce the cost of having children and promote more economic growth. Some of her party want to continue John Howards baby bonus scheme that provides a lump sum of cash to parents upon the birth of a child. Others argue that the government should instead aim to focus on lowering the costs of educating children by making tertiary education free. a. Discuss how each of these options will affect wages and labour productivity, potential GDP and real GDP. Will they lead to growth in real GDP and rises in real GDP per capita? use the potential GDP and labour market diagrams in your answer. b. Imagine that whatever strategy will be chosen, it will be kept for the next three decades. In terms of achieving growth in the long run, discuss which strategy would lead to higher growth rates and explain why. c. How would each strategy affect the standard of living? Answers: (1). The natural unemployment rate is defined as the rate of unemployment when there is equilibrium in the labor market. The unemployment rate is the difference between the number of individuals that would like a job and the people who are able to and willing to take a job. The rate of unemployment includes two types of unemployment they are frictional and structural unemployment. The natural rate of unemployment generally occurs due factors in the supply sides and not on the demand side (Argy et al 2016). Population 15,000,000 Working age population 12,900,000 Number of people Not in the labor force 100,000 Part-time employment as a percentage of total employment 18% Number of full-time employees 4,953,000 Rate of underemployment 40% So the above table provides information regarding the population, working age population, the number of people not in the labor force, the percentage of part-time employment, the number of full-time employees and rate of underemployment. (a). The labor force participated can be calculated using the formula: Labor force participated rate= labor force (employed + unemployed)/working age population * 100 =(4,953,000+100,000+232200) 12900000 * 100 = 41% Here, 230400 is the total number of persons in the in the part-time employment. Unemployment percentage= total number of unemployed person/ unemployed+ employed = 100,000/ 100,000 + 4,953,000 + 232200 = 2% So, from the above data, the labor force participated and the unemployment rate was 2%. (b). The report of the payroll jobs and reports of unemployment rate are circulated together, and it is also covered under the report of same press, so it is genuine to assume that both the report is circulated from the same source of data. And we calculate the unemployment with the help of household survey, not from the payroll jobs, so there is no particular relationship between change in the rate of unemployment and number of new payroll job generated("More Misleading Official Employment Statistics | The Daily Bell", 2016). The survey of the new payroll jobs counts an individual having two jobs as it were two individual employed, whereas the survey of households counts the individual holding two jobs as one. It should always be kept in mind that the number of payroll job may increase because of the use of birth-death model, which is used to calculate the number of unreported shutdowns of business and startups("More Misleading Official Employment Statistics | The Daily Bell", 2016). So the rate of unemployment can be dropped easily because of the definition of the workforce, which excludes discouraged workers. So it is evident that an increase in the population of discouraged workers can lower the unemployment rate("More Misleading Official Employment Statistics | The Daily Bell", 2016). (2). In the recent years, the government is facing a huge concern in reducing the cost of the cost of having children and promotes more economic growth. Many were of the view that the government should go for the John Howards baby bonus scheme that provides a lump sum of cash to parents upon the birth of a child, whereas many were against this scheme and advocated that the government should spend the money in reducing the cost of education of children by making tertiary education free. The federal government of Australia introduces the Baby Bonus scheme on 2002 with the aim to reduce the cost of bringing up a child. The primary aim of the scheme was to increase the fertility rate of Australia. The government raised the bonus from 3000 dollars to 4000 dollars in the year 2004. Under this scheme the women can claim up to 25000 dollars of the paid tax during the period of her pregnancy, making sure that the tax-free amount is not being wasted. The government implemented this scheme to reduce the cost of bringing up a child because the family expenses of bringing up children are increasing day by day. But many people advocate the idea of lowering the cost of the education by making tertiary education free. (a). The implementation of the baby bonus by the government does not have much impact on the wages and the labor productivity and does not help in the growth of the GDP and the real GDP. Many of the scholars highlighted that if the government focus on lowering the cost of education by making tertiary education free will positively affects the economy of a country. The Baby bonus scheme does not have any benefit for the future education of the child. And it is evident that higher education rate helps in the economic growth of the country. By investing this money in the future education of the child the government can improve the economic condition of the country, help them to increase the GDP and will increase the real GDP per capita("Baby Bonus Scheme" 2016). (b). Instead of implementing the baby bonus scheme the government should concentrate on reducing the cost of the education by making the tertiary education free because if the government does so it will increase the literacy rate of the country. With the increasing inflation it has become tough for many students to complete their education, so making the tertiary education free will help the government in the long-run, because with the free tertiary education now more children will be educated and which will improve their productivity, and increase literacy rate will also help in narrowing the wage gap between the workers. Free tertiary education will increase the productivity of the labor in the industry, which will further help the company to grow and increase the real GDP and potential GDP, strengthening the economy of the country("Baby Bonus Scheme" 2016). So from the above discussion, it is clear that the government should spend more money on educating children because this will benefit the country in the long run. (c). The baby bonus plan is not properly directed so its result in unequal distribution of wages and adversely affect the standard of living. Whereas if the government spend more on educating children than this will help in reducing the wage difference between the workers and will improve the living standards of the population. Definition Free will is the power to make choices freely without any constraints or compulsions. Free will is a voluntary decision and an independent choice. It is the capacity to respond in ways that oppose even the strongest influences (Ruggeri, 2012). People possess free will. This is the reason why peoples decisions are unpredictable. Free will helps a person form thoughts. No matter the pressure or force placed on a person, the person will act on his or her own free will when making decisions. Truth is the reality of the matter, as distinguished from what people wish so, believes to be son, or assert to be so (Ruggeri, 2012). Truth is a fact. It does not change, only our knowledge change. Forming thoughts based on truth discards any doubt and places the evidence on the subject. Knowledge is what understood and known to be true. Opinions are %intensely personal (Ruggeri, 2012). It is a personal way to express ones judgment Thoughts formed through opinions are mostly personal perceptions of how they interpret or believe the idea is (Ruggeri, 2012). Hindrances The three hindrances to the critical think process are the mine-is-better hub resistance to change, and conformity. Mine-is-better habit is the habit that hinders thinking through preferring own ideas for no other reasons that the are yours. The concept of handling situations that arise will highlight this tag f mind set. This concept or idea slows down the thought process of the group from excelling. The One Where You Can Be Yourself Professor Ramos Blog
The One Where You Can Be Yourself The really well known T.V show sitcom ââ¬Å"F.R.I.E.N.D.Sâ⬠became very popular from 1994-2004. Itââ¬â¢s been about 14 years since the tv show ended and yet itââ¬â¢s still the highest rated T.V show on IMDb. This show is relatable, funny, and quirky. Its about six friends living and doing life together. Each character has there own fun personality that makes it easy for anyone to relate to at least one of the characters. This show gives a lot of life lessons that we can all take into consideration. While each character has similar qualities, they also have their differences. One of the main characters on the show named Joey Tribbiani played by the actor Matt Leblanc, taught the audience to be yourself no matter what others think about you. à Rachel Green played by Jennifer Aniston, teaches us if you work hard and youre confident, you can accomplish anything. Chandler played by Matthew Perry à and Phoebe played by Lisa Kudrow, both teach us that just because you are an adult doesnââ¬â¢t mean you have to grow up. In society today we see the struggle and competition to look and act a certain way. You see all over tv or social media, girls and guys portraying themselves as what the world would call ââ¬Å"perfectâ⬠. The bottom line is nobody is perfect and we all canââ¬â¢t look like the models or actors we see on T.V. à ââ¬Å"Friendsâ⬠gives a realistic but entertaining outlook on the reality of life. There is tons of pressure in life that you have to meet certain criterias. This T.V show took some of the well known problems in society and used it as a way to encourage people to be who they are despite what everyone says. Joey knows who he is and isnââ¬â¢t sorry for it.We see in most of the episodes Joey loves food and wonââ¬â¢t deny any kind. In the episode ââ¬Å"The One With The birth Motherâ⬠season 10 episode 9, à Joey goes on a date. His date starts taking his french fries, and we see that Joey hates sharing his food. While this dilemma may be extreme, lets take it with a grain of salt and review that in most episodes Joey has a unbreakable love for food and no matter what people say about him or his weight he embraces who is. In the episode ââ¬Å"The One Where Rachelââ¬â¢s Sister Babysitsâ⬠Rachelââ¬â¢s sister comes into town and pushes her opinions on everyone, being really concerned with looks and self absorbed. She says to Joey ââ¬Å"A moment on the lips, forever on the hips.â⬠Joeys response back to her was ââ¬Å"Iââ¬â¢m curvy and I like it! What a powerful bold message this truly is. Joey stood up for himself despite the opinions of others. As an actor h e became a huge influence on society and inspired people to love who they are and accept who they are. ââ¬Å"Acceptance is the turning point of giving up old behaviors that are not working. Acceptance is active process, not resignation. It is embracing reality as the individual experiences it. When we say ââ¬Å"embracingâ⬠this does not mean liking. To accept a feeling all is needed is to experience it instead of avoiding itâ⬠(Adria). We all struggle with this at some point in our life, whether we hate the way we look or where we are at in life. à Something we have to learn is even though we donââ¬â¢t like it we need to embrace it. Sometimes in life we canââ¬â¢t change the situation we are in but we can change the way we think about that situation. Rachelââ¬â¢s character came from a snobby rich family. When she was introduced on the show her character didnââ¬â¢t know a single thing on how to take care of herself. Everything had been handed to her but she soon realized that if you work hard in life you can accomplish what you desire. For her it was to work in fashion. ââ¬Å"Given the opportunity, we could be successful pooling our knowledge, our skills, and our passion for building something brand newâ⬠(Goodman). In the episode ââ¬Å"the one with Rachelââ¬â¢s inadvertent kissâ⬠season 5 Rachel finally lands a job at Fortunata Fashion. She thinks that this is her big break into the fashion world until she soon realizes that shes an assistant getting coffee for everyone. It wasnââ¬â¢t until in the later seasons she lands a job at Ralph Lauren as an executive. In life we may not get the dream job right away but that doesnââ¬â¢t mean it wonââ¬â¢t happen. Sometimes in life we have to be patient and pers istent in what is placed in front of us until new opportunities come along. à While sometimes that easier said than done that doesnââ¬â¢t you can have fun along the way. Life is too short to be serious all the time and sometimes you need a good laugh to keep you going. à This show did a really good job with giving the characters Chandler and Phoebe a light hearted look on life. In one of Chandlers witty saying he says, ââ¬Å" I say more dumb things before 9 A.M than most people say all day.â⬠à With Phoebeââ¬â¢s character we see a free spirited person with a positive outlook on life and always seeing the good in any situation. ââ¬Å"Yes, there is a time and place when itââ¬â¢s important to take things seriously. These are times that involve compassion, empathy, and introspection. However, most situations we find ourselves in are actually not worth fussing over. In fact, they are perfect opportunities for taking a lighthearted approach to livingâ⬠(Sicinski). This is such a valuable life lesson we can all take into consideration when dealing with trials and hard circumstances in life. à Life is a long journey and we just got t o enjoy the ride even if its bumpy. This show is great because of itââ¬â¢s relatable life lessons anyone can take into consideration no matter what is going on in our lives. The show emphasizes on a lot of diversity in society and brings it to light. F.R.I.E.N.D.S inspires people to be and accept who they are. It showed people motivation and confidence can allow you to accomplish your hearts desires. à It allows people to be okay with the fact that we donââ¬â¢t have it all together and sometime you got to be goofy. ââ¬Å"Just live your life the way you want. And laugh as much as you can while youââ¬â¢re at it. Especially about yourselfâ⬠(Foroux). The reason friends is such a great T.V show is because it takes lifes daily struggles and makes entertaining journey. Annotated Biblography Goodman, Morris, and Joel Yanofsky. Journal Article (Current event on Wall Street Journal) Essay - 1
Journal Article (Current event on Wall Street Journal) - Essay Example Smaller changes in the tax policy are supposedly getting in, and as a result of tax changes, there will be a direct implication on the economy. Sparshott elaborates that there is an expectation that there will be a shrink in the gross domestic product, which has an enormous implication on the economy by an estimate of 0.9 percent (7). The conjecture incorporates the full connotation of the fiscal cliff. More research as seen in the article by Sparshott indicates that there is an economic consequence of going over the fiscal cliff, and a much higher probability of staying off the cliff which many analysts and economist have ignored over time (8). To calm the nerves of the people who rely on the economy of the nation for their well-being, Sparshott explains that there is hope still, and there is a thin line separating the achievement of the fiscal plan and the current conditions (7). Further research by renowned researchers according to Sparshott indicates that economists figure that the economy of the nation is more stable and will survive (7). This is an indication of the fact that the countryââ¬â¢s economy will be stable enough for the investors to risk a huge amount of money into the country. This assurance by researchers does not concur with many estimates by renowned analysts. However, the case is totally different in consideration to other analysts who indicate that the economy has an extensive process ahead so as to stabilize. In this case, the chances of survival of the countryââ¬â¢s economy are negotiable. To back this argument, it is recommended to assess the entire state of the economy not a section of it. In this case, the assumption that the economy is stable is for the reason that there is a notable improvement in the housing market recovery. This recovery consequently leads to a steady fall in the level of unemployment which further leads t o a solidifying bank leading

Current Issues in Health Care Administration Article
Current Issues in Health Care Administration - Article Example In this regard there are reforms which are currently being instituted aiming to extend the coverage to more than 30 million uninsured U.S. residents through a huge expansion of Medicaid and establish new federal health insurance premium subsidies. In Kansas City, there are primary health care facilities from more than 20 hospitals providing over 5,000 beds covered by 435 congressional districts. The article specifically outlined how the congressional districts categorized businesses in Kansas City who would avail of the health reforms. The distinguishing characteristic is the size of the business depending on the number of employees and wages. The following chart will clearly illustrate the proposed reform: In addition, the districts were subdivided according to the local representatives who govern them. The following table illustrates the number of residents covered, number of businesses eligible for tax credits and exchanges. Whatever controversies or skepticism that this plan might face, it is important to realize that Americaââ¬â¢s health care system needs to be immediately rehabilitated to better address the needs of the

Michael Jackson Essay Example for Free
Michael Jackson Essay Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 ââ¬â June 25, 2009) was an American singer, dancer, entertainer and recording artist. Referred to as the King of Pop, he is recognized as the most successful entertainer of all time, and one of the most influential. His contributions to music, dance and fashion,[1] and a much-publicized personal life, made him a global figure in popular culture for over four decades. Alongside his brothers, Jackson made his debut in 1964 as lead singer and youngest member of The Jackson 5. His solo career began in 1971. His 1982 album Thriller sold more than 110 million copies, and remains the best-selling album ever; while several of his other albums rank among the worlds best-sellers. Jackson is credited with having elevated the music video from mere promotional tool into an art form. His videos for Billie Jean, Beat It and Thriller made him the first African American artist to amass a strong crossover following on MTV. He popularized a number of complicated dance techniques, such as the robot and the moonwalk. His distinctive musical style, vocal style, and choreography continue to transcended generational, racial and cultural boundaries. Michael Jackson was born on August 29, 1958, the eighth of ten children to an African American working-class family, in Gary, Indiana, an industrial suburb of Chicago. His mother, Katherine Esther Scruse, was a devout Jehovahs Witness, and his father, Joseph Walter Joe Jackson, a steel mill worker who performed with an RB band called The Falcons. Jackson had three sisters: Rebbie, La Toya, and Janet, and six brothers: Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, Marlon, Brandon (Marlons twin brother, who died shortly after birth)[7] and Randy.[8] In 1982, Jackson contributed the song Someone In the Dark to the storybook for the film E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial; the record won a Grammy for Best Album for Children.[27] That same year Jackson issued his second Epic album, Thriller, which surprisingly became the most commercially successful album of all time with nearly no promotion. The album remained in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 for 80 consecutive weeks and 37 of those weeks at the peak position. It was the first album to have seven Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles, including Billie Jean, Beat It, and Wanna Be Startin Somethin.[28] Thriller was certified for 29 million shipments by the RIAA, giving it Double Diamond status in the United States. It is the best-selling album of all time in the United States.[29] It was, and currently remains, the best-selling album of all time, with 110 million copies worldwide. Jacksons popularity would soar further. On March 25, 1983, he performed live on the Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever television special, both with The Jackson 5 and on his own singing Billie Jean. Wearing a distinctive sequined glove, he debuted his signature dance move, the moonwalk, which former Soul Train dancer and Shalamar member, Jeffrey Daniel had taught him 3 years before. His performances during the event were seen by 47 million viewers. On January 27, 1984, Michael and other members of the Jacksons filmed a Pepsi Cola commercial, overseen by executive Philip Dusenberry,[37] at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. In front of a full house of fans during a simulated concert, pyrotechnics accidentally set Jacksons hair on fire. He suffered second-degree burns to his scalp. Jackson underwent treatment to hide the scars on his scalp, and he also had his third rhinoplasty shortly thereafter.[21] Jackson never recovered from this injury. Jackson died on June 25, 2009 from a drug overdose, amidst preparations for his This Is It concert series. The Los Angeles County Coroner ruled his death a homicide. Wikipedia The Free Encyclopedia. Augustines Confessions Paper -- Literacy Analysis
When one reads the word "confessions," one would not necessarily associate it with the word "narrative." Confessions seem to be more of something stated directly without any story-like element. They are also a more personal thing- one does not simply put them in a story form unless purposely intending to do so, because usually it is something that expresses guilt for something personal or is between the author and their conscience (or perhaps to themselves). However, there can always be an exception, like Augustine's Confessions. It is written as a form of a narrative, even though the original the main audience for whom it was written is God, yet it is also intended to be read by anyone, almost as a didactic piece that sets an example through the portrayal of his life and his decisions. Augustine takes what he has experienced during his life and with details such as parallels to the bible turns it into a narrative that he writes with an intention of educating or perhaps setting an ex ample for any reader. ââ¬â¹Augustine writes his confessions not as a list, but as one event that flows to another- like a narrative. At first glance, it appears to be as the title says- a book of confessions. However, it cannot solely be approached "as a penitential work, concerned with the confession of sins, which indeed it is, in some degree; but this is not Augustine's primary concern. (Bonner 164)." He means that it is not just a confession to God, that indeed God is the main audience, but not the only audience. Augustine even states this in the actual text: "I too, O Lord, also so confess unto Thee that men may hear, to whom I cannot prove whether I confess the truth, yet do they believe me whose ears charity openeth unto me (10.3.3)" and again wi... ...no means starting on the morally correct path but still was able to turn that all around, and almost like an inspiration to all that it is never too late to make a difference or change in one's self. Executive Summary: Being one of the third world developing countries, Bangladesh is still in the process of development of a sustainable and effective waste management system throughout the country. Though the scale of consumption of food, energy and other resources & products in Bangladesh is much less than any developed countries, waste management here is still poor due to lack of adequate knowledge amongst the people about how negatively this wastes can impact on peoplesââ¬â¢ health, environment and aesthetic. The generation of waste here is increasing parallel with the growth of the countryââ¬â¢s economy and infrastructure since waste generation is closely linked to population, urbanization and affluence. Human beings produce a variety of waste, which can be classified into two broad groups: organic and inorganic. Organic waste is biodegradable and generally decomposes fairly rapidly, while inorganic waste decomposes much more slowly. In Bangladesh like other developing countries with increasing population, prosperity and urbanization, it remains a major challenge for municipalities to collect, recycle, treat and dispose of increasing quantities of both organic and inorganic wastes. To determine how this report could assist in the management of waste, the team decided to carry out a survey in the Shimultola area to figure out what types of waste are being produced and how they are handled. A survey questionnaire was formulated for this purpose and a survey was carried out by the members of the team along with a small group of young people of Shimultola. The survey was carried out on a sample size of 159 household in the area out of which only 143 participated in the survey. Some heads of households were reluctant to take part in the survey for the following reasons: disagreement with the involvement of the youth as survey interviewers, refusal to disclose information about how they handle their waste, and the belief that waste management with the project is unnecessary because the people alreadyà know what to do but are simply unorganized and irresponsible. Based on the evaluation of available data, the report recommends establishing a suitable location for every little area, which will serve as the communal dumpsite for non-recyclable inorganic waste. A feasible waste collection and disposal system should be established immediately. Waste separation should be encouraged and each waste type should be disposed of in an appropriate manner. The sale of recyclable material should be organized. Composting of organic waste should be encouraged. Existing waste management regulations and their enforcement should be reviewed and amended. A variety of awareness activities ââ¬â targeting different age, gender and interest groups within the village ââ¬â should be carried out to encourage proper and responsible disposal of waste. The general poor state of cleanliness and the continued use of open areas for dumping wastes are clear indications that the majority of the people are not convinced about the negative health and environmental impacts of improper waste disposal. In addition, although local regulations relating to waste disposal exist, they are simply not being enforced. In order to improve the situation, the people must make an effort to dispose of various types of waste in a responsible manner. The existing regulations should be reviewed and amended to improve monitoring and enforcement. A common dumpsite needs to be established, accompanied by a feasible collection and disposal system.
